Teaching is a pretty thankless job. It’s difficult for anyone who is not a teacher to truly know how much work goes in to teaching. So here is my thank you note to teachers – my favorite group of people.
To all teachers,
Thank you for taking on the most important job in our community.
Thank you for ALL the hours that you spend planning, prepping, grading, spending time/energy/your hard earned cash in order to create learning experiences that engage and inspire your students.
Thank you for all the grading, feedback-giving, stickers and stamping you do in order to let students know they are on the right track or that they could do better.
Thank you for loving on the ones among us who need the most love.
Thank you for wearing your heart on your sleeve and for the hugs, smiles, and encouragements you give to your students every day.
Thank you for getting excited when you walk by the dollar bin at Target and you spend your hard-earned (and not-plentiful) cash because you know what you see will inspire and motivate your students.
Thank you for mastering the art of inhaling your lunch.
Thank you for walking around seeing yellow and having a bladder of steel.
Thank you for the bundle of colored pens you carry around because each one means a different thing in your planner.
Thank you for the hours each night you spend on pinterest trying to find fun and engaging lessons for your students.
Thank you for the LOVE you pour in to your students.
Thank you for bringing your WHOLE HEART into your classroom everyday – offering it to students – and in turn, inspiring them to go out and share their whole hearts with the world.
You are the change-makers. You inspire me. You uplift our communities.
Thank you for all you do.
Wholeheartedly Yours,
~Alison, A Teacher’s Best Friend
