“This program helps with finding balance in a constantly changing world of teaching. In finding what is important and what can be left behind or to do later. Maybe you don’t have to “do it all” and still be great at what you do.”
“I feel strong and confident and I have regained the joy of teaching.”
“I found it really valuable to have a time set aside to really consider myself and discuss ways to make my life and work function better. It’s easy to just keep working without taking stock of what is helping or hurting you. this forced me to be thoughtful.”
“I highly recommend the Teacher Coaching Pod for any educator. The coaching really made me see what was important to me. I got to reflect on what I want to benefit my needs. I saw the most important thing which is “ME.” This pod made me realize that I am human and it is okay to say “NO.”

I have been teaching 15 years and was regularly working 12 hour days and both weekend days until I burned out last spring. Through my work with Alison, I became so much more focused on my values and what is most important to me. Working with Alison is a very empowering process because all of the answers were within me and she is so skilled with asking the right questions to help me discover on my own what I need. Then she guided me with establishing goals in small steps so I wasn’t overwhelmed when I started to make changes to achieve more balance between my work and teaching life. I am now setting much better boundaries and realizing I can still be a good teacher while also having the personal life and time with family and friends that I deserve.
Coaching has been a life changer. It was exactly what I was looking for during a challenging time of life. I knew that I wanted to work on myself and become a better version of me but had no idea how to do it. It seems like such a daunting task, to become the version of yourself that you’ve always wished for, but didn’t know how to achieve. I was nervous to start coaching because I had been to counseling before with no real benefit.
After the first session I was hooked! I already felt like a new person and I knew that Alison was the gateway to help me get where I wanted to be. After that first session I was giddy! I was dancing and jumping and singing around my house because I knew that I had found what I needed to help me make the changes and get the life I had been wanting and searching for for years. She has helped me become the person that I always wanted to be, but didn’t know how to become.
Coaching has allowed me to be a better teacher, wife, friend, and most importantly a better me. I know that these changes and the progress I have made has been because of my own will and drive to improve and grow, but I would have never come this far this quickly without a coach to guide and push me. After each session I feel invigorated and recharged because of the progress I’m making, but also calm because I know that I’m not stuck in a place where I am unhappy.
Starting coaching is the best decision I have ever made. Because of coaching I can stand up for myself, while being professional, I can take care of myself without feeling guilt or feeling selfish, I can communicate my emotions more clearly and I can connect to my true self in a way that I never thought possible.
Looking back now, I am thrilled I started coaching when I did. It’s been several years now and thanks to the support and guidance from Alison I’ve been able to work through so many challenging moments and come out the other side proud of how I handled them. I’ve been able to strengthen old relationships, and build new ones because I now have the understanding and the vocabulary to do so. I have loved every moment I’ve had in life coaching and cannot wait for what lies ahead, knowing that I have someone who will support me, cheer me on, keep me focused on my goals, and help me grow.
Working with Alison has been a dynamic process of self-discovery, almost akin to developing and flexing an entirely new muscle around my own self-awareness, behaviors, and values. It’s been eye-opening to look back and see the progress we’ve made together over the past four months. Alison is a gem of a coach — thoughtful, inquisitive, creative, collaborative, and deeply understanding. Her sensitivity and kindness, above all else, make our conversations a safe space to be vulnerable and to truly grow.
Alison has been a blessing! I was really struggling with my career as a teacher and knew I needed support. After searching for the right person, I found Alison’s website. The work that we have done together over the last few months has drastically changed my outlook and perception on my career, myself as a teacher and the job that I do every day. We worked to reduce daily stress, we tackled key issues that were weighing on me and then started working on making the future better and brighter. Alison has been nothing but encouraging, supportive and insightful through this entire process and has even welcomed and included my husband in on some of our work together which I found incredibly comforting knowing that I have a team of people rallying around me. If you are struggling with the challenges of being a teacher, the desperation of wanting to change careers but not knowing how, I would highly recommend working with Alison. She will help guide you to the right next step for you.
Confused, exhausted, and stagnant…these words best describe my emotional state as well as what pushed me to find help! After using Google to search out a life coach, I was pleasantly surprised when the suggestion “life coach for teachers” appeared. A Teacher’s Best Friend was one of the first options previewed. I immediately clicked on it and felt like Alison was speaking directly to me! It took a few days to gain the courage to contact her, but I wish I hadn’t been so uncertain. Immediately, I could tell our values were aligned and that entering into each session with her would be intentional and focused. Alison and her approach to coaching has made such a tremendous impact on my life, both professionally and personally. When a decision at school or daily activity is being walked out, I can hear her words in my mind rehearsing the prior sessions or a word spoken as a reminder in moving forward. Alison is flexible and adapts quickly to the needs of her client at a moments notice. She knows, understand, and respects the life of a teacher as only one who has taught in the profession can. She is my “safe place”, and I so grateful to walk this walk with her!
Alison is dynamic, sincere and authentically gets it. As a fellow [former] educator, she understands the innermost workings and complexities of school & work culture. Since working with Alison I feel better equipped to navigate the management of teaching and my personal life. Each week we address work and life themes; but Alison’s grasp of knowledge extends past the classroom and into any arena of your life. Thank you, Alison.
I am so grateful for Alison! I was really struggling last year-trying to decide if I wanted to stay in teaching or do something else-and saw her name in a Facebook group I’m in. I was tired, depressed, and had no faith in myself or my abilities due to the toxic environment I was in. I honestly didn’t know where to turn. Alison and I connected right away, and she was everything I could hope for or need in a coach. She helped me define my purpose and gave me a place to vent and question what I was doing. Because of her, I truly understand the importance of taking care of myself and setting clear boundaries. I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for her support! Because of my work with Alison, I had the courage to leave a job that wasn’t working for me and define my priorities in my next job. I am in such a better place than I was 6 months ago. Thank you so much Alison!
